Emu, I was at the fair one year and tried to touch its feathers and it beaked me on top of the head. It hurt a bit, but I was otherwise ok.

I was around one foot away from a fully grown tiger. But the bulletproof glass looked safe in that zoo

I was walking up a remote wilderness path and I saw the butt end of a bear cub disappear into the brush away from me.

One thing you don’t want to do, is sneak up on a bear cub. Mamma isn’t far. It was a frightening moment.

While jogging down a trail, I saw a mountain lion asleep, with his tail hanging over the rock

I thought “What would happen if I pulled his tail?”

Waited a few seconds. Didn’t pull the tail. Moved on quietly.

A jaguar. I don’t know if you know this, and I certainly didn’t, you aren’t supposed to run from a jaguar. I was on a run already, saw the jaguar, and ran faster. There was a drug trafficker who had a great taste in neighborhoods but poor taste in securing doors and their jaguar escaped. Didn’t love that afternoon.

I was almost stepped on by a giraffe, so I guess I'd have to say that was close!

Idk if you guys have it elsewhere but in the UK we had 'bug days' at school and on the very first one I got bitten by all three of the spiders that the guy had brought.

Turns out I was allergic to something in the spider fangs and had to go to the hospital lmao

One time, I was camping in the wilderness and heard rustling outside my tent in the middle of the night. I peeked out and saw a pair of glowing eyes staring back at me. It turned out to be a cougar, and it was so close I could see its teeth glinting in the moonlight. I had never felt so simultaneously fascinated and terrified in my life. I managed to scare it away with some loud noises, but I didn't sleep a wink for the rest of the night.
